Hi, I'm Shaun Nelms—author, publisher, motocross enthusiast, and the creator of Nelmgerian MX. I founded Nelmgerian MX with a clear mission: to inspire kids to read, learn, and dream within the thrilling realm of motocross. As a lifelong rider, I've witnessed how dirt bikes impart essential life skills such as perseverance, responsibility, confidence, and sportsmanship. My goal was to channel those values into engaging children's literature that families can enjoy together.

In today's world, children face a multitude of digital distractions vying for their attention. It is my hope that every Nelmgerian MX book encourages young readers to set aside screens, delve into a book, connect with their families, and venture outdoors to create their own adventures.

Why I Write

For me, growing up, motocross was more than a sport—it was a way of life. It instilled in me that true success comes from practice, hard work, determination, and the resilience to get back up after setbacks. These invaluable lessons serve as the foundation for every story I craft.

Whether Ryder is gearing up for his first motocross race, forging new friendships, developing crucial reading skills, or helping others discover the joy of riding, each tale is crafted to entertain while fostering confidence and character.

The Nelmgerian MX Learn-to-Read Series was inspired and enriched through the educational expertise of my daughter, Kylie Carpenter, a first-grade teacher. Together, we've blended proven phonics instruction with exhilarating motocross adventures to help beginning readers build confidence while having fun.

This is just the start. My vision is for Nelmgerian MX to become the premier destination for motocross-themed children's literature, educational resources, and family-friendly products.
